@Birddog66 I will when I go to the Pirate Festival and the Sealed Knot!
If there are any members who smoke cigarettes out of public I'd recommend they try a clay pipe!
I think the stem's clogged on my clay - need to run a pipe cleaner down it!!!!
I would like to take part in clay pipe smoking competitions post COVID19; both slow smoking and fastest to down a bowl!
I've lost contact with @Maddogsmokers after an encouraging start; this seems to happen a lot with me:-(
Contacted me 2 months ago regarding their online clay pipe smoking competition - fastest to down a pipeful of tobacco gets three clays and a jar of bacca!
I then lost contact after a good start and will never find out the competition results or if I've won the pipes and baccy:-(
If I take part in English Civil War re-enactment I would smoke a clay pipe at events:)
No pubs or pipes until the Pirate Festival at Matlock Bath next month.
I'm doing a 1 million steps challenge this month to raise money ? for Diabetes and would like to work on my fitness!!!
I think the stem of my clay pipe is blocked; need to run a pipe cleaner through it.
If it does that to a clay pipe; think what it's doing to you!
I wish you the best in your competition, I wouldn’t bet against you.??

Evening all, I want to say thank you to @simong for the wonderful pipes and tobacco. The two I’ve tried today smoke like a dream and @Simong’s stoved Capstan was more of a revelation than Revelation, if you catch my drift.
I’m gonna try and get a early night so I’m finishing up a little Bulleit Bourbon and some 2016 MM American Patriot (@simong thank you again) in a MM Legend.

Part way through this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Jupiter Slices in a post WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson made in Dublin straight smooth X155 Bulldog with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. This is not only one of my favorite pipes, but it's also the same model Nigel Bruce smoked in two Sherlock Holmes movies. Getting ready to watch the Braves-Marlins game.

Is Nicotiana (sold as a house plant) the tobacco plant?
I would be useful to know how to turn the leaves into something to smoke in my clay pipes...
It is a very close relative. I'm sure it could be cured and smoked safely. Wouldn't be a bad idea to research. My house is on 2 acres which was part of a tobacco field when I got it 22 years ago. I'm thinking of growing my own next year. This area is known for having prime tobacco growing climate and my wife and I both have worked tobacco fields in the past so we have experience in curing. Nothing big, maybe three dozen plants or so.
