I have smoked SWR made in the 1940s, '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s as well as several pouches in the 2000s. I was struck by the fact that only in the 1940s version was there a difference in taste. Even then, the difference was only that the '40s sample was just a tad deeper in flavor.Amazing how unchanged it's been -- I like that. I just ordered Chatham Manor based on one of your reviews on tobaccoreviews, to see how that is in comparison to the venerable OTC Carter Hall -- looking forward to it.
Part way through this bowl of aged Troost Slices in a smooth unfinished brown slight bend 2015 Savinelli 320KS author with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
I like them both for different reasons as the flavors are different, and both fit my palate well.Do the Troost Slices live up to their reputation? I remember when these were coveted more than Stonehaven.
I should also say that if they were sold in the USA, I'd cellar some tins. This batch was given to me by a very generous forum member.Do the Troost Slices live up to their reputation? I remember when these were coveted more than Stonehaven.
I like it fresh as well. Aged, too.LNF in a Savinelli 707
Even though I love Virginias and the other Stokkebye flakes (particularly LTF), I'm only just now trying LNF. To my surprise, I like it just fine fresh, which I can't say for LTF or LBF. I just ordered a couple pounds, as I imagine it's very good with a bit of age.
