Catching up on the news with Rouxgaroux in my Merchant Service Short Dark Cutty and coffee.
Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. Tomato the Brave is eating, now. Daisy the Feral Princess is snoozin'. I guess she's not hungry. I'll look for Harry the Hairy and Abner the Eager after Tomato finishes his wet food. And I'll look to see if it's safe to do a set of walking reps. The sun is out, but I'm not sure how icy the road is.

Sunday morning and it's the first pipe of the day. Right now I'm smoking a mixture of 3 parts Half & Half and one part SWR. It's a nice change from the English blends I mainly smoke and works well in a Savinelli with balsa insert. 
That smoky/leathery smell when opening a new tin is something special to me.
They say your first love is always special and this certainly is true to my pipe smoking journey. I started my very first smoke with an EMP, and aromatics were only my second go-to option.

I have several Savinelli filter pipes I use to smoke an occasional aromatic. Here's how to save money on the filters. Instead of buying the actual filters. I go on ebay and buy a pack of balsa wood rods in the right size (3/16x1/8") and cut them to length and that's it. Cost is about 10% the cost of filters and they work just as well. A tip: if you cut the ends on a slight angle the pipe draws better.

After a nice grilled filet mignon and sliced fingerling potato lunch it's time for a cigar. Guantanamera 310 Anniversario Churchill and some Ardbeg 10 on the side. The Ardbeg is making a serious argument for replacing my Lagavulin 16.
Bought me some Brown X but am chicken to try it.But honestly I think Brown Irish X is much much stronger
Have some Black X and it's one of the stranger smokes I've ever had. Truly tasted like meat to me. I've read it needs some time, so I sliced it and jarred it up.- Status
