Been looking at bulk blends on Smokingpipes; I could start with C&D Bright Virginia Ribbon. I look the look of the Gawith Kendal Gold and think it would suit the King's Clay. Shouldn't be hard to find a nice golden or dark Cavendish to go with any of these. I imagine "Clay King" to be a golden coloured Virginia / Cavendish baccy; the closest commercial baccy to "Clay King" is Samuel Gawith Black Forest. Gawith blends always seem to sell out on Smokingpipes though. Might get a tin of Sillem's Musketeer though as I like the tin art. Lane HS-3 is another close match to my "Clay King" specification but SG Black Forest is the one!
My specifications for "Clay King" are:
1) Virginia / Cavendish blend.
2) Low nicotine strength
3) No Latakia!
I did smoke a clay bowl of Latakia in my clay pipe at the Nottingham pipe show though...

First smoke in this recently acquired Antique Store find. New stem by JM Boswell. House of Robertson bent brandy and some May 21 Windjammer. With a little age on this blend it really has improved. A wonderful smoke.
I recently had one of my hats cleaned and reshaped. Thought I’d post a picture after seeing @reloader in his Black Cowboy hat.

Well, a friend gifted me a tin of Cult Blood Red Moon. 20230110_141246.jpgJust cracked it today. Hmmmm. The immediate tin note was Robitussin cough med. Let some dry for a while, then packed a cob and lit up. Hmmm again. Ummm, it was the thought that counts, right? Right? Will jar it for now and try it again later. I drew a red marker on the the cob shank, just so there's no mistakes. Nonetheless, it was a nice gift
