Half way through this bowl of first release Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I started out last night with 2021 Brighton in my Dr. Grabow: Commodore 65 Zulu, dated from 1967-1969, vulcanite stem, metal screw-in tenon, no stinger, but only got 1/4 of the way through, then I let it sit overnight.

So, finishing it up today, it’s really nice, having sat over night, became lighter and sweeter.

@JimInks I’m not sure I remember when was your birthday? I really love John Aylesbury Sir John’s Flake Virginia, hope you enjoy it too, especially in that nice pipe! ❤️
My first smoke in the Alden bulldog was wonderful! My birthday was at the end of November.

@BlueRidge I enjoyed the Old Dark Fired in my clay pipes.
Currently smoking Cornell & Diehl Bright Virginia in a clay pipe.
Saving the Yorktown & Bradyville for re-enactment smoking.
Don't want to smoke all my baccy and have none left for the Sealed Knot & Lace Wars / Redcoats & Revolutionaries events; it wouldn't do to run out of supplies:)

Went over to the barn this afternoon to check on the horse, and do a little work on his pen in preparation for the big storm (yes, another one). Peterson Sherlock Holmes in my MM Country Gentleman. This was the first non-aromatic I ever tried and, unsurprisingly for a VA, has aged very nicely over the past 2+ years. I would imagine all my VAs will only get tastier as the age accrues.

Bird report: Brewer's blackbird, California quail, Pinyon jay, Common raven, and various sparrows. Much different birds just a few miles away from my house.

Getting ready to prepare a batch of minestrone soup (recipe here), a perfect meal for a rainy night in the mountains. Stay warm and dry everyone!

It is raining here in LA County. So that is like if it was hailing, flooding, and burning, all during a hurricane on the Thanksgiving travel weekend anywhere else...
