A quarter of the way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A good friend recently gifted me a 500 gr. bag of Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Kentucky, and I thought what better pipe to try this out in than the new morta made for me by pipemaker extraordinaire Juan Urquiza! It’s a match made in Heaven. The Kendal Kentucky is shag cut, and the wide-open Uquiza Morta allows me to easily regulate the draw. It’s one of my best smoking pipes.

And the GH Kentucky Kendal is phenomenal. Not complex, but smokily delicious.

Nice pipe - Kendal Kentucky is a great tobacco that you don’t hear people talk about. It also can successfully mix with anything and add some kick to it

My friend is new to pipe smoking. We stopped into a local store and picked up a pouch of Prince Albert to establish a baseline for him. It was kinda cool to see the bulk pipe tobacco in family sized potato chip bags.

I'm having the Prince Albert with him in my Big Ben Ranger Nose Warmer (he's having it in a NOS Beechwood pipe from the late '50s I gave to him made at the Saint-Claude factory.
