***What Are You Smoking, January 2021?***

Just stating a bowl of Bayou Nights, tastes good in the pipe. Oddly enough, and perhaps my taste buds are off track tonight--but it smelled like vomit in the jar. My wife even said, "That smells bad," when I asked her to give it a "smell check." Why I would smoke it after the whiff from the jar says more about me than I want to know!

Part way through this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Gold in a post-WWII Bertram 60 straight smooth dark brown squat bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Cleaning a few pipes.

Time for the knockout drops. Irish Rope in an early 1900’s AOC Keystone by Oppenheimer. I have found as of late a good nic hit is very relaxing. Not as relaxing for my body chemistry as 300mg of caffeine, but it has the benefit of the steps involved in prep, pack and light.

It is. Ryan Alden is a great pipe maker, and I am very fortunate to have such a great looker and smoker. Btw, that's m'lady holding the pipe, not me. She keeps her nails clean.

I figured it was your wife's. Great pipe, I'm working my way from the bottom towards some of those higher end better quality smokers.

He has none on his website listed and smoking pipes has only 1 to pick from. None are showing up on e-bay either. He is a young pipe maker at 41 yrs old and he'll only get better with time in his craft.

Just finished smoking KBV The Dread Planet 2020 (Hellstar) in a smooth straight 1980s James Upshall Walnut pot with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Time to snack.
