Stopped off at my parents house to drop off some chocolates and get them checked in for their flight tomorrow morning. For dinner Mom made an amazing salad, she's always watching out for our health. Didn't get to stay long but oh boy did I still have chocolate on my mind as I left..

As a result, C&D Chocolate Supreme was on the menu loaded in my Canadian Club pot. Couldn't take a picture because of how dark it was so I just recycled the photo from this morning.

Hope everyone got home safe!

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am smoking Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Just fed Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave.

Keep reaching for this one... I'm a big Aromatic English guy and I think this is becoming my top favorite of the Squire's offerings in that arena. Having some rum and cokes for thirsty Thursday 😂 (Remembering now how my freshman roommates used to go out tn to the under 21 club.. my God I really am becoming an old man 😅)
Cheers tonight fellas!

Couldn't get out for a birthday smoke yesterday - it was -17C - a bit cold even for a Great White North smoker! But today, a bit warmer, despite the 40cm of snow. Set up in the shed with my first bowl of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake in the Brebbia with a thermos of tea (with just a glug of Havana Club 7 year in it).

View attachment 370870View attachment 370871Question for the vets: when I make an attempt a couple years ago to remove the oxidation on the stem, I rounded it off a bit so it doesn't quite fit snug to the shank. I find the tendon a bit "rubbery" because of this play. Is this normal? I'm understanding vulcanite is a form of rubber - if this is so, it would make sense to have this "rubbery" play. I'm wondering because I'm scared of breaking the tenon when I'm taking it apart to clean.
Dunno on the tenon, but happy belated birthday!!

Just finished smoking Wilke High Hat in an undated black sandblasted straight made in France Silvermatch Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. M'lady helped me feed all the ferals, and our cats so I could get back to work faster. Abner the Eager wanted to go outside after he ate, but the others are still in.
