Just smoked my first twist -- G&H Aniseed Twist to be exact -- in my Peterson Dublin Bulldog. I've unnecessarily shied away from ropes until now and enjoyed the smoke. Got a pretty strong tobacco taste with some cocoa, nutty, and light aniseed flavors. Left a slight coolness in the mouth.

I bought an Opinel No.8 Carbon knife specifically for tobacco (best $17 I think I've ever spent on a blade) and sliced very thin coins that I then rubbed out. The rubbings were quite moist so I let it air dry for about an hour before stuffing. Lit right up and smoked without a hitch. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

I find it humorous that I am only now 'discovering' roll cakes, flakes, and twists that have been around far longer than I have. :) What a wonderful pastime!

Tonight I’m sampling outside of my comfort zone. Won a large auction a couple of weeks ago and the tin of Amphora Scotch Whiskey that came with it turned out to be nearly full. I was surprised that even though it had been opened at one point, the tobacco was actually in really good condition. After a week in a mason jar with a Boveda, it’s nice and moist. Any old timers guesstimate what era this is from?

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've passed the last third of this bowl of year 2018 Mac Baren HH Burley Flake in a 1979 smooth straight dark brown Loewe Army 910 billiard with a silver cap military mount and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is still with m'lady. We haven't let Harry the Hairy in because he'd want to be where Molly is, and we aren't going to disturb her peace or take a chance that it might set back today's progress. Below the pipe pic is one of Molly.

That's pretty cool! Thank you for the Boveda tip. I purchased some ceramic disks to rehydrate some tobacco I have. Didn't realize I could've just used a few of the Boveda packs i already have 😅. On a side note are you wearing AE Boulevards?
