Ding ding ding! Correct on the flavors. I wasn't gonna spoil it for you. That blend is either love or hate. It's like nothing else. Lots of KDF for BBQ-ish smoke, and bourbon, which also isn't unusual and many like, but the orange WITH those two things is what throws those who don't like it off.

If you like orange duck, or the orange peel beef at a P.F. Chang's, you'll like it. If you want orange zest left out of your dry rub BBQ? You probably won't.

Like I said, it wasn't bad, won't be in normal rotation but when offered for a bowl, I wouldn't turn my nose up at it.

Had one of those classic meerschaum moments when tilting a bit of ash out of the bowl to have the remaining fifth of the bowl pop right out and promptly explode across the stones below. C’est la vie!

Enjoyed my first bowl of Robert McConnell Folded Flake in a La Rocca (apple?) basket pipe. Just picked up this blend and a few others today, and had to put fire to one of them. This one is a tasty, easy, comfortable smoke. I could see myself smoking this anytime of the year, but I think it'll go well with an iced coffee or iced tea on warmer spring day.

Stanwell Melange in a Falcon. I think that 2 out of 3 people in this Forum (I mean the men) have facial hair. I also used to have, for years, all kinds: beard, goatee, moustache... I miss it sometimes...

I very much include myself in this, but some of you probably know the terms herfing and herfer for cigar smokers who gobble them up like they're food, and just can't get enough, and many of those claim the term doesn't apply to the slow, deliberate nature of pipe smoking.

With your example of 5 bowls already today assisting my argument, I'd like to rebut the assertion that pipe smokers can't also be herfers *ahem*: Oh, yes, they can! I believe I've made my case.
