Supper of sorts in two full bents. After a year out of the rotation, the Peterson Sherlock Holmes full bent brandyish ball Lestrade with P-lip makes an appearance for 2 days in a row, this time with the SPC Plum Pudding BBA, and the full bent billiard beyond mere rustication Jobey Stromboli bargain estate pipe smoked some Borkum Riff Vanilla calabash I inherited 2 lbs of back in 2016, after a resurrection with a large boveda pack. It was tasteless dried leaves, and the full flavor, such as it is, is back.
Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. When I walked to the den to post this smoke, Tomato the Brave hid under a blanket. When I got near him, he pounced from under it on to my feet, bunny kicked me, and bit my pants leg. Then, he ran to the kitchen to eat. That boy sure has some serious hyper activity.
Just finished smoking year 2018 Mac Baren Acadian Perique in a straight smooth brown 1933-36 KBB Yello-Bole Honey Cured Briar 2384 Acorn with a tapered yellow rock ambra stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Now smoking year 2022 Watch City Blue Ridge Special in a straight smooth ebony post-WW2 LHS Sterncrest 91 bulldog with a sterling silver band, a diamond shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem.
Kept things old school today with some SWR in my MM Select. I must say this is the best smoking cob I've ever used, I'll probably get rid of my others soon
Half way through this bowl of Wilke Little Round Top in an undated straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Sterling bulldog 150 with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. Finished work for the day, fed my cats, and all the ferals except for the absent Tomato the Brave. Abner the Eager got in a fight with some animal because he has a cut across his nose, and a couple on his neck. We've given him extra attention, and he enjoys that. Wish I knew what he was fighting with because this isn't the first time he's been in a scrap.
Passing the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem.
The beloved Chris Askwith Liverpool morta which I lost in a field on the farm for a week after an 8-day slow drying out in a rice bag (thanks for the tip, guys). Going to smoke it VERY carefully with some Gamgee & Hogswatch Rum Twist.
Close to finishing this bowl of year 2015 Mac Baren Virginia #1 in a straight smooth brown pre-1920s W.D.C. Bakelite bulldog with an electro silver band and tapered black vulcanite stem with an orific bit. That'll be it for me today.
Went out walking with a bowl of J4/perique in a MM Morgan using a vulcanite stem I cobbled from a Shire and now at the computer with a small apple meer and some PS LNF. Listening to a podcast called "Locked on Nuggets" about the Denver Nuggets and primarily Nikola Jokic. I've been 'into' basketball since childhood and this guy is a pure joy to watch play.
