Okay - first picture post on the new computer setup. Coming from Tor Browser, which is slower than the ace of spades, but secure. I've been hacked twice financially (not too much fortunately) and will do what I can to prevent a repeat.

In any case, I did my humility post on Autumn Evening yesterday, in my McQueen Cherrywood Russet, one of my favourite pipes. I've biased the pipe for aros, so it seemed the place to start.

Repeated the proceedure this early afternoon, and whatyaknow? A repeat performance. Just excellent. So, here is the picture, and a new tobacco on my rotation!! :) Personal and skippable story below picture lol.

Having a few problems with the forum setup re Tor . . . switched back to Firefox VPN during the posting of this thread. Did'nt lose it, fortunately. Still some growing pains on the new system. However . . . .

As most of you know, I spent the last 2/3 of my life as a professional violinist, Conductor of 4 orchestras, and resident composer of 3. I'm very secure in what I am doing in these capacities.

I was often asked by audience members, interviewers, press, etc questions like "Who is your favourite composer," or "What is your favourite Beethoven Symphony to conduct?" . . . . that kind of thing. My answer, truthfully, was "Whatever one I happen to be playing at the time."

Quite a different answer than in my callow youth, when I spouted off opinions that would be backed by all kinds of jabber and bs, and that opinion was often not backed up by solid fact or experience.

Like pipe smoking . . . . I honestly now have a different attitude via experience, and can appreciate from a more nuanced and knowledgeable perspective.

I think most of you guys know exactly what I mean, and have had similar growth in your own lives and endeavours.

I'm going to try Autumn Evening again tonight, except in my Falcon International, on which I've mounted a larger bowl I'm trying to bias for aromatics. To be continued . . . . . .

Great looking Rossi. I have a bunch of those rubber mouthpieces but I just can't get comfortable with using them. Just doesn't feel as good as the actual stem.
I'm sympathetic with BriarBrook. I use them now myself on most pipes, and a custom job on the longstems, because of "lip bite." My lips are very sensitive and prone to swelling, probably because of too much contact wtih knuckles in my early days lol. Stiches, you know.

They really help, and so does the 'stache, but yah, a certain contact with the pipe is lost in the process.
