Was showing a cousin part of my Baccy Cellar, with some notes on the jars listing '05, '09, '13 (etc).
Their interesting comment was, "Wow, these are so old. Will you just throw them out? They can't be good, anymore, right? Since they're so old, like cleaning out all the old, spoiled stuff from a fridge."

How do you actually explain the reality?
Well, with some folk it's hard to know where to start - or whether to bother at all. I might try explaining Rocquefort cheese, and how it started life as a new ewe's milk curd cheese sandwich a medieval French shepherd lost in a cave. When he went looking for it some months later - imagine being that hungry! - he found the ambient temperature and humidity of the cave interior had attracted a particular bacillar mold which made the cheese tangy and delicious, whereas when new it had simply been bland and boring.

Good morning and happy Saturday, everyone! Continuing my exploration of new (to me) and exciting tobaccos, today’s morning selection is Brown Irish X. I've loaded up in my Guildhall and paired it with a delightfully black coffee.

Update: Well I think I have bitten off more than I can chew. My morning smokes tend to be on an empty stomach and 2/3rds into this lovely blend and I'm feeling it. Note for next time, eat something prior or at least pack a smaller bowl.

Up earlier than usual, and am half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats and all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
