Black Irish X Twist in a Pete Squire with more coffee whilst I chat to local council. My goodness these guys are problematic and they want to have a face to face meeting about my plans so if I don't post here tomorrow send bail money.......

Just gave my County Administrator an earful myself. Good luck and remember it didn’t happen if there isn’t a witness1739925543811.jpeg

I brought this afternoon's pipe of Sutliff 507C Navy Flake in the Vauen Olaf to the grocery store with me to pick up some odds and ends. As I was driving through the parking lot I passed a woman cutting between the cars; on the other side she stopped me to say she loved the smell of my tobacco and it smelled great and gave me a thumbs up ! If it wasn't 25 degrees I would have told her to write her representatives to exclude pipe tobacco from legislation and taxes but alas ... next time ! Spotted in the wild !! Put down one Yes for Navy Flake !

Full day of ranch work today; fortunately, a little warmer than it has been recently, perhaps 60 degrees in the sun. PSLNF in a Stefano rhodesian. Very tired, but lots of progress already for this early in the season. 8/10

Bird report: Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, House finch, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, Spotted towhee, American robin, and California quail.

I expect to see at least several hundred of you at my IPSD pipe zoom on Thursday. If I hyped it up any more than I have been for the past month and change, I'd be too depleted to attend myself. ;)

Another night of screwing about in the cold, about the same conditions as my previous posting. I really do have to say though, this 150th hasn’t been anything other than an unsuspecting treat. Very sweet mouthfuls of smoke sporting real rich orangey citrus flavors, and while of course still a bit of a nipper, it’s absolutely nowhere near as bad as it once was to try and smoke, and that’s with absolutely no dry time. I know there may have been some allusions to some older McC’s leaf possibly being used in throwing this stuff together, which if true, I can easily see. Wish I had put more away than the pound that I had while it was around, reminds me a bit of Russ O’s Acadian Gold with the more orange-leaning citrus taste, yet another blend I wish I had grabbed some of. Excited to see how this stuff continues to mature in the future. Hope all is well, everyone.

Man! So many gorgeous pipes in this thread!
Anyway, here’s another beat up shop pipe I never finished.
I was hoping that this would have been a smooth, but the briar didn’t cooperate. i also put a small ring of buffalo horn on it but I should have used a much lighter color like a ring of deer antler. Oh well, next time. Then, I decided to finish it with a product called, ‘Danish Oil’. There is nothing Danish, or Belgium in this much used and misunderstood product other than the ubiquitous marketing lies. Danish oil is in fact a blend of linseed oil and varnish.
Anyway, I’m venting my angst against marketing scammers.
Tonight she’s packed withLNF, Its -25C outside but inside my shop AKA smoking room it is a balmy +8C
