Never really slept, so I'm passing the first quarter of this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Just fed Abner the Eager new-to-us dry food from Costco. He loved it. So did Daisy the Feral Princess.

Having finished my original mixture of Dark Annie (50/50 ODF and H&H Anniversary Kake) I have put together Dark Annie ll The Bludgeoning💀, it’s the same but with a healthy pinch of ‘21 Rustica and same of C&D’s The Beast. Having regained consciousness after the first few puffs in a Kaywoodie medium billiard I can say with authority that it’s pretty darn good. Not an all day smoke however.
That’s some solid recipe inspiration right there!
I love it when I can catch tidbits from the WAYS threads, often I’m too busy subconsciously working on honing PAD goals.

Thank you, it’s got a lovely flavour but is way up there in the strength department, I might have to add a little Golden Extra to mellow it out a little and I think it would complement it pretty well. I need to put a Estervals order in as I’m getting low on some favourites.

About to light* a bowl of Full Virginia Flake.

*since the name of this thread is "what are you smoking", as opposed to "what are you about to smoke", I always make a point of lighting up prior to the photograph, hence the scrupulousity of my phrasing as I neglected to do so this time. And to those of you who post pictures of a pipe from the seller's website and claim it's "what you're smoking"...for shame!

I’m watching a very informative documentary on the Great Fire of London in 1666 that goes through the events hour by hour. Some very interesting archeological finds have been made in the layer of charred earth from that time, including some scorched clay pipes and articles of clothing. Anyone interested should read the contemporary diary of Samuel Pepys which offers a fascinating insight into 17thC life in London.

About to walk WeeBay with the Astley’s filled with Druquer Blairgowrie mix, I’ve had that, Trafalgar and Levant sitting on the shelf since ‘21 and the few years in the jar has improved them considerably, mellowing and integrating the flavours to make them more complex and smooth. image.jpg
