Enjoyed a tasty Envy apple, and am off to work with a bowl of Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Some KBV The Patience of Dr Silence (which is much needed in my house at the moment) in a little Alexander Hasty Apple. A little Weller Special Reserve helps calm the nerves a bit. And good book soothes the soul.

Next up is some 2018 C&D Carolina Red Flake in Castello 215 Trademark with some beautiful birdseye. The Weller is tasting nice and the book is fueling the mind.

Not far from finishing this bowl of Wilke Surbrug’s Golden Sceptre in a late 40s, early 50s straight black sandblasted Wagner British Thorn 495 (Comoy’s second) pot with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Half way through this bowl of 2021 Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Just finishing this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend.

Last smoke of the day is year 2022 Prince Albert in a 2015 Basil Meadows black sandblasted billiard with an aluminum band and a pearl red acrylic tapered stem.


I managed to get a couple of photos through a glass window of Tomato the Brave sunning himself on my back deck.
