T.G.I.F.!! Another work week is in the books, and I’m ready to unwind. I’m smoking a bowl of Capstan blue in the garage, because the wind is just relentless today. A pour of Four Gate bourbon finished in Apera Sherry casks will get the weekend started.

Smoking some C&D Autumn Evening in a Blatter & Blatter slightly bent with one red dot. The bowl is packed so well that the tobacco doesn't even know it is being smoked.

On deck is some 10 year old Peterson's Gold Blend to be smoked in a bent Grabow.

C&D Bayou Night, a strong English blend, in my favorite Dr. Grabow pipe, a Royalton bulldog, slightly bent. The pipe has no bead lines but is exquisitely shaped; clearly there are some artists on the factory line. It has a light tortoise shell saddle stem. I fantasize that the old timer who shapes these pipes either retired or was off the line for some reason, and someone else had to train to make them again, since they disappeared from the inventory for about a year.Even the stamp is done with surety.
