Lane Limited HGL, a real old-time aromatic that I've taken a shine to lately, having discovered it in the back of my stash, in a Tsuge "tasting pipe," a straight tapered blast billiard that unlike its name might suggest, is full-sized, and has an interesting light blast finish that looks almost like the weave of a fabric. The pipe is fully Tsuge quality and one of the best deals in pipes I've enjoyed.

To celebrate International Pipe Smoking Day I ordered 300 regular BJ Long pipecleaners, 24 churchwarden pipecleaners, and 2 more ounces of HGL, though I have much tobacco. This was 15% off at SP, though it was nine bucks for shipping, so I broke about even. I started out at PC, but they couldn't check me out because my ancient PC didn't line up with their check-out and they aren't staffing their toll-free phone, so I abandoned their 20% discount for 15% at SP.

Happy IPSD to all. I'll soon be well supplied with pipecleaners, which I often use a few times each for economy, old cheapie that I am. I still have some tapered pipe cleaners, but don't like them quite as well. I'll save them for when I need the extra fluffy end. I intend to open a tin or two of some of my choicer blends in the near future, so you won't all think I've gone full codger. It is surprising how well these old blends smoke, and how good they taste.
