Relaxing after a wonderful salad, French cut pork chops and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm now smoking Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Small Batch Peaty Kentucky in a 1980s White Pipe straight, smooth octagonal paneled billiard meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Working on a review of this blend.

Morta pipes fascinate me. Does anyone know where to get one from Irish bog oak? I'm not sure if I can afford a good one but the Irish connection is important to me as a sentimental old guy with strong Ulster roots.

Not Irish, but do you know Davorin Denovic?

Seeing your Devil Anse pipes got me thinking to buy a long Morta too.

How is it smoking, better, worse, can’t tell, etc.?
I’m far from any kind of pipe expert, that’s for sure. I will say they are as good or better than my other pipes. That said, most of my pipes are in that range or lower. I’m definitely a fan overall and think they are an excellent, quality company. I personally enjoy them quite a bit. Hope that helps.

@edger You could always send Davorin an email to see if he has or can get Irish bog....

Check out this old Peterson Morta Estate, pretty cool, it’s sold...
