1980 Nightcap....!?!?? Would you give us a comparison?
Got to admit that there's (unsurprisingly) no comparison between the two separated by about forty years of ageing in the tins but I will say that the contents of the older tins is smooth as silk and an unadulterated pleasure to smoke.
Based on my experience with the few blends I have remaining from the late 70s - mid 80s some have aged better than others . . . the 1970s/80s Dunhill blends opened during the past five years - STANDARD MIX, 965, EMP and NIGHTCAP - have definitely aged gracefully unlike, say, my favourite blend from the 70'/80's - Sullivan Powell's SPECIAL MIX - which is sadly but a pale shadow of its former self.
