Haunted Bookshop hitting the spot in my Savinelli Cumberland 806. Pipe looks really scratched up but it's not, it's the finish coming off. Both Savinelli pipes I have the finish started coming off with the first or second smoke. Absolutely crap finish on both of them. But they are my best smokers so I don't care as much. But irritating though you pay good money on a pipe and the finish come straight off.

This has happened to the Sav that I use the most, and I've seen mention of it elsewhere. If I had it to do over, I'd choose the rusticated models over the smooths. I agree, it is frustrating.

On the menu for my commute to work this foggy morning was a delightful bowl of LJ Peretti's Tashkent, provided by @JoeW, in my Shillelagh Falcon with a meer bowl and paired with a black coffee.

The traffic was minimal, the coffee was hot, and my pipe was singing. It doesn't get much better than this on a workday. I hope you all have a great day!

Braved the Zombie Apocalypse in town, getting last-minute shopping in with Mrs. B. As usual, we bought a bunch of stuff I didn't know we needed, and forgot something I know we did. Now out with the Peterson's D6 Classic slimline Dublin and some Peterson's Irish Flake, with a little G&H Brown Pigtail mixed in. That was a mistake. A good way to compromise the subtlety of a perfectly good blend. Not recommended Black coffee accompaniment.
