I’m a big fan of Brown Irish X, which I think is the same as Brown Bogey, just bigger. Anyways, I use a cigar cutter to slice off coins in case your Misses finds out you’re appropriating her sewing siccirs for tobacco processing lolIt's been a real night of discovery for me tonight! To wind down the evening before bed I'm trying rope tobacco for the first time, with Gawith Hoggarth Happy Brown Bogie in a Rattray's Blower's Daughter.

It was surprisingly easy to cut off thin little coins with a pair of very sharp sewing scissors, and the coins rubbed out to a fine ribbon cut with little effort. Based on the appearance and the smell of the ropes I was expecting a harsh and abrasive smoking experience, but after giving it a little dry time it was actually perfectly smooth like pure Virgina stoved to the point that all the acidity just disappears; but with the rich full fireplace smokiness of a dark fired Virginia mixed in. It's a really pleasant assortment of all the darkest and eartheist Virginia flavors, with a powerful extra strong nicotine kick that definitely puts a smile on my face. This most certainly is a happy blend indeed!
A guy really can’t ask for much more than that on his birthday. Cheers to many more of the same! Thanks!
A great evening filled with family, friends, food and fellowship- Fantastic!
Happy trails to you on your daily adventures around what seems to be a beautiful “Ranch”.
Your pipe scenes capture a quiet, solitude and the joy of the moment so often missed in a world of fast and frenzied people.
Be well!
I love Per Jensen blends, never seen or heard of this one!Another secret Santa gift. This is the first time I’ve had anything with Rustica. I’m digging it. I’ve never blended any leaf, but thinking about cutting some of this in with the Low Country VaOr I’ve been smoking. Seems like it might work out.View attachment 359317
This one is good. I don’t have near enough experience with the dark fired blends to give you a good comparison. But from what I’ve had so far, it has the sweet and smoky flavor but also has a tangy side to it. I’m enjoying it well enough on its own, however this is the first tobacco I have smoked and thought it may work well with others.I love Per Jensen blends, never seen or heard of this one!

If processing more than a smokes’ worth or two, your fingers are gonna get soreI haven't tried any ropes yet but I'm about to order some soon. I have one of these Cuban Crafters perfect cutter that should be perfect for slicing them up.
