***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

This afternoon I had Gawith Hoggarth Dark Flake Aromatic in a Morgan Bones Milan, but tonight I'm trying Sutliff 515 RC-1 for the first time; in a Rattray's Blower's Daughter.




Sutliff 515 RC-1 smells super vinegary, but the vinegar actually doesn't come through much in the flavor of the smoke. It seems to just enhance and intensify the natural tanginess of the red Virginias. The room note is absolutely delightful too, like bread baking in the oven and very toasty. In short, it's really good and I hope STG keeps this one in production!

I dipped into my home infusion experiment. Smoking some HU Makhuwa infused with Amaretto. Its pretty nice. Im not sure if its a repeat on this blend since I like it already the way its made but it is good. It spent about 5 days in a tupperware container with a half shot of booze in a cup in the middle. No direct contact.

Yes there is a thread about infusion. People who have tried it find it imparts flavor but doesnt make the tobacco burn hotter...no goopiness or need to dry. 5 days in a little container worked well. Amaretto is pretty strong. I was going to wait a week but I got impatient. Its still subtle but I prefer it that way. I didnt want to make an aro. Im not anti aro but I get annoyed with the same note playing over and over. This method allows it to still change as the bowl progresses.

Morning pipe and coffee while reading the newspaper. Dress black Chacom Rhodesian purchased from J Dengler in the 80s with a low sauced Ennerdale Flake. Thinking of opening up a Turkish coffee joint in the south of Spain so @JOHN72 has some alternatives to drinking Whiskey and a welcoming place to wear his own Fez.

Enjoyed a tasty orange, and am smoking Wilke Little Round Top in a 1987 smooth medium brown full bend Peterson first series Sherlock Holmes with a silver band and a black vulcanite tapered p-lip stem. It's been a while since I smoked this once heavily smoked pipe. My girl friend at the time bought it for me as a birthday present from the local Tinderbox. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching a Gene Autry movie with Tomato the Brave by my side.

After reading your post, I was immediately taken back to my visit to Gettysburg battlefield many years ago. I’ve never heard of the blend. Hoping there was some incredible “Tin Art” created to go with a blend named after Little Round Top, I searched the internet.
I was disappointed to find it a bulk blend with no tin.
If created, it would have to capture Colonel Chamberlain standing firm with his men holding the line!
His seasoned Sergeant Major by his side, his pipe firmly clenched in his mouth has he checks the troopers along the hastily built stone wall.
