Enjoyed a bowl of Watch City's Flake #558 in my Savinelli 2023 Saint Nicholas bent billiard (606 KS), that my wife bought me for my Birthday last month. First time using this pipe, a great smoker, and I enjoy the beautiful stem that takes on a different look in the sunlight. Really enjoying #558 too. I'm not one to retrohale often, but I find myself enjoying it a lot with this blend. Unseasonably warm in the mid-50's today, great day overall.

When this Folklore was new, I couldn't really get it to work for me. Very tasty first quarter bowl, but then just hot air, all flavor gone. Now, with a little time on it, and probably mostly better packing (loose!) it has become a reliably good smoke. puffy

Getting ready to accept that tomorrow's the last day of 2024 - kind of sobering.
Won't be no "out & about" for me. Have stayed clear of driving on New Year's Eve for many years ... unlike those "Days of Yore". Roads end up almost like Dodge 'Em Cars at the State Fair.

Will spend the evening with friends laying a lip over Prime Rib & Broccoli washed down with some Asti, culminating in my contribution of a Wild Berry pie & some good TV.

Tonight, am enjoying some VERY nice Marlin Flake in a Canadian. Let it dry in a soup bowl until almost crispy. Has a real nice sweetness to it. Burning easy, mild ... might try mixing in a bit of Perique to boost what's already there from Rattray, the "Inveterate Tinkerer" that I am. And yes, I know that Marlin Flake's not everyone's favorite.
Love reading all the opinions in Tobacco Reviews, especially this quote:
"I think this is what God smokes."
Hah, in no way am I alluding to any equivalency ... (!) ... notwithstanding a long-ago time or two where "Oh God" was whispered in my ear. :) Okay, enough. Begging forgiveness from all.

Truly beautiful pipe!
Thank you, kindly! I had him spiff up a Peterson Shannon 6 that I got on the forum here and also picked up that freehand plus this Shannon 80S that I'm now enjoying some MacBaren Plumcake in.

Couldn't be happier with my overall experience. Only beef or trouble was dealing with the Canadian post during that whole strike thing...

Relaxing after a wonderful sourdough meatball pizza with a bowl of butter pecan ice cream for dessert. I'm smoking Jim's red Va/Bur blend in a 1980s White Pipe straight lattice apple meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. I'll see how well I did with this mix.

Pulled out the Falcon and loaded up with Robert McConnell Latakia Flake.
Interesting blend. Very woodsy with a mustiness that reminded me of walking over damp leaves in a forest. There is a floral undertone that stays through the bowl. This blend is only barely sweet, and the smoke has a dry quality rather than the usual thick creaminess one normally associates with cavandish. That may be due to the Kentucky. As the bowl came together the mustiness gave way to a nuttiness that rounded out the flavor.
Perfect moisture, it lit and burned consistently needing only a couple of touchups. Toward the end the nicotine kicked in. It wasn't bad but it made me realize I should have had dinner first.
Is it good? Definitely, but not an everyday smoke IMO.
