2020 Cringle Flake in an amber-stemmed meer.
Dear friend Sigmund, you have a beautiful collection of pipes, very elegant. You have good taste, typical of a French gentleman.
It was a short distance to plug. I used some very hard pipe mud I formulated and pierced it with a 3mm bit by hand when wet. I dont know if it will hold up but it was easy enough and was proof that the pipe problem was that it was over drilled. If my fix wears out I will grab a 3mm piece of al tubing and flare one end so a cleaner passes through easier and fix it into place. The dam drilling was like 4.5mm. Comine that with a 25 mm wide bowl and you get air. Still with wide bowl I will probably use it for strong lat blends, also ones that tend to burn fast since it holds so much tobacco. How did you adjust it? Did you insert a metal tube/sleeve?
Thanks John but Im not French. Im a transplant from the US. The wife is the French one of the house.Dear friend Sigmund, you have a beautiful collection of pipes, very elegant. You have good taste, typical of a French gentleman.
Bought myself a couple of xmas presents - a Parker and a no-name pipe from the antique shop. They had two racks of old pipes this time, mostly Dr Plumbs, an old Falcon I might be back for, a large Stanwell I didn't like the shape of, a Mr Brog, and a couple Medicos. Tenner each for these! Now to the shops for some last minute bits and piecesSolani Aged Burley Flake in the Sarome Cambridge to start the day, going for a walk up to the antiques shop soon, then tidying the flat for xmas after lunch
I like that Parker. Handsome. Not bad at all for £10Bought myself a couple of xmas presents - a Parker and a no-name pipe from the antique shop. Some of the pipes looked to have been very badly cared for, the Parker struck me as a diamond in the rough. That shop is like an Aladin's cave, it is jam-packed with stuff just stacked higgledy piggledy in heaps and the prices are always really good. Whenever I visit Abernyte (much bigger and fancier antiques shop up the road with curated displays and more of a reputation) I invariably find things I'd seen weeks before at this place with the prices doubled. I make a point to pop in regularly and ask about pipesI like that Parker. Handsome. Not bad at all for £10
