A couple of minutes away from smoking first release Watch City Rhythm & Blues in an undated straight smooth brown Crosby Saint Andrews Comoy’s “ Merchant Service-like Bing” with a silverish band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

What is that on the bottom right hand side of the stummel? Is it a plug, an adornment,or a giant sand pit.Beautiful piece of wood,by the way.Just curious.?
Hello @samuelgawith01 and @virkia !
They are inserts (another on the opposite side), to simulate the eyes.
If you look at the image of the upside down pipe, it will look like the head of a duck, the stem the beak ...
A reference to the brand :)

Now smoking Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Have a little more work to do.
