Close to finishing this bowl of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Just fed the neighbors cats who were waiting by the back door for food. Suzy and Molly got their food, too.

My first bowl of Escudo. Rubbed 1 1/2coins out packed last night. So far I really really like it. I’m not a Va/Per guy yet, but I could be convinced. If this is a good example, I’m in! Burning really easily. Subtle rich flavors.

Enjoying with coffee/ steamed milk. I didn’t say latte as I didn’t fire up the espresso maker. I know how technical we can be a out language around here?

Have a delightful Saturday everyone.

Very much enjoying a bowl of Wessex Burley Slice in a Nazarenko blasted Anse with the beginnings of a pot of rich, dark, black ☕. ?
Sipping at the halfway point whilst watching Ms. Miniver (1942) on TCM. Greer Carson, beautiful as ever, & Walter Pigeon, a life long pipe smoker, are just coming up for a breath of fresh air from a bunker during a blackout as the Germans blitz across Great Britain during WWII. Notice how Pigeon cleverly maintains his bowl as to not allow the smoldering cinder to be seen. Great flic! ?

It is that, sad ending or no. The Anderson & other shelters used during the Blitz don't get featured often, even in war movies. Pidgeon was always good in any movie he was ever in.

Thank you so much for the information . . . you're a star.
If you have time I'd really appreciate it if you could look again in your marvellous book for any details of the pipe maker B.C in a horizontal diamond and for the maker's mark on the mount which looks to me to read E.I G.I H.J but as the initials are quite badly rubbed they could well be E.I G.I H.J.I

As I was busy with other matters and consequently away from pipes from the late 1980s till the mid 2000s I missed the reference book and was wondering if it's still available to buy as it looks like an invaluable resource to help me date my older briars.
Judging by the lozenge that the lion is in I can put it between 1896-1916, the date letter is hard to see but if that’s the tail end of a S it’s 1913/14. That’s definitely a London leopards head, can’t find the makers mark anywhere yet. Hope this helps.
