Such a shame, an otherwise stellar Va/Oriental blend ruined ((for me)) because of a licorice topping - it's subtle and complimentary to the blend but if you're like me and don't like licorice you'll notice it immediately..
I’m not a fan of the licorice either.

Been cracking a few tins from the cellar this December. Since the pandemic started, haven't been able to share well aged tins with anyone. Very disheartning. Anyway, pulled a 2013 extinct, McCelland British Woods. Savored the artwork on the tin, peeled the seal, lifted to smell the aroma, and promptly dropped on the floor! I gasped, and watched as vintage tobacco spilled over the floor and the tin continued to roll and spread tobacco even further. Long story short, I was not gonna waste this tin. I'm smoking as I type, enjoying a tobacco we can't get anymore and feeling pretty lucky. Cheers......

Whole leaf blend. Some more of that strong kentucky blend I mixed up the other day, this time with a touch of oriental and pressed into a crumble cake. Kind of inspired by moztek dark twist(just kentucky and perique) but I like my blends a little more aromatic and with slightly less strength.

47.5% Kentucky
22.5% perique
20% black stoved bright virginia
5% latakia
5% prelip

Again, really impressed with the 5% latakia blends. This one is strong and spicy, but the bright stoved smoothes it out and adds some caramel sweetness. Latakia enhances the caramel creamy qualities and the prelip gives a woody aromatic touch. The perique gives a bit of dark fruit to liven things up.

Through a vauen sandblasted billiard with a replacement stem so it's a stubby now.
