A 3rd burley blend - the much maligned Mixture 79.

I love all things aniseed/licorice - root beer, black jelly beans, aniseed-flavoured tooth paste, star anise, Chinese 5-spice. So this is a no brainer
. . .
I, too, love all those flavors you mentioned. 🖤 I've almost finished off my Lane Andullo, which is anisette flavored, although not at all sweet. This looks very much like a "love it or hate it" kind of blend. I'll order an ounce next time, assuming they still make it. Thanks for pointing out the flavors. Cheers, mate! 👍

It's a cigar night. Trying something new -- Camacho Connecticut. It's really nice, considering my fave is not usually Connecticut Shade.

Drink is Tamnavulin Single Malt Scotch finished in Sauvingon Blanc casks. 🥃

Also, my Mantis friend seems to have molted again and now has wings! (I can't be 100% certain it's the same one, but I'm going to pretend/assume it is.) @Benedict Munsinger

Unfortunately with the demise of Sutliff, Mixture 79 is no more ☹️

I was lucky enough to score a tub after Sutliff’s closure.
This bowl was from an ounce I jarred a few months ago.
The aniseed note is not as strong now,

Near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2020 H&H Chatham Manor in a straight black sandblasted, smooth dark brown top bowl 2021 Jim Brown stack Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Tomato the Brave came in to eat, and is playing with a catnip sock. Those socks are more popular around here than I am.

👍🏻 Colleague, that’s how true scientific journeys begin — first you observe a mantis molting, and before you know it, you’ve become a budding entomologist.

Pros: a balanced blend of Virginia, Burley, and Latakia; smooth yet flavorful; works well as an evening smoke; medium strength.
Cons: the light sweetness may not suit everyone; Latakia is more in the background, so fans of full English mixtures might find it too mild; can overheat if puffed too quickly.
