Yup, with Buffalo Bore 200 grain hardcast.....just in case its an extra tough bear. :)
We were lucky enough this Fall to have a nuisance black bear relocated to the state land connected to our property. He is already double tagged. So hes been relocated 2x already. There won't be a next time. He will be put down if the DEC gets another report. He is just a nosey garbage bear so far, no threatening behavior. But he circles our property and causes issues. This morning I find the birdbath knocked over, two feeders on the ground, both messed up, and the steel pole that holds the feeder bent over. He was busy last night, but more gentle than usual. :)
QUES = if they do have to put him down, do they salvage the meat? Donate it anywhere? I've read that in Alaska, moose that have been hit on the road, if they can get to them when still "good", the meat is donated. I believe that here in MN, deer carcasses off the road are sent to a Wolf Sanctuary.
NOTE: I've had black bear meat once (grilled) & it was great. Twice, I've salvaged fresh roadkill deer after the State Highway Patrol wrote me legal possession paperwork ... I didn't hit the deer.

Passing the last third of this bowl of year 2012 Dan Tobacco Treasures of Ireland: Limerick in a 2021 medium bend black sandblasted Peterson Newgrange 80S bent bulldog silver spigot with a tapered reddish brown, black striped acrylic stem. Have enough left for one more bowl. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Tomato the Brave ate plenty and quickly went out. He did stop for a head scratch and back rub, though.

Five Brothers in an Roadtown Handmade. I still can’t believe the price I got this pipe for.

I haven’t been posting the because I went on a spree with that Tekin freehand meerschaum while I was working outside so it was getting pretty repetitive.

I got to smoke a couple different pipes today that I also didn’t have time to post so this is it for now.

That one turned out to be a looker. Nice score. The few i bought and kept all smoke great and fit/finish are well beyond price paid. 👍

Cleaned up the shop and pain supplies about a quarter to 10 tonight. Enough's enough for one day. There are advantages to having the shop only a door away from the smoking lounge, but then when i get close to finishing something it's also easy to keep the foot on the gas till later than i should. Wind down time is precious. Speaking of which, i'm doing just that with a bowl of Hamborger Veermaster in a churchwarden my brother made for me years ago (stamped Hoskinson Handmade).

Did a little low calorie snacking, and am almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2012 Butera Pelican in a 1970s slight bend black sandblasted English Rustic 120S Billiard (Comoy’s second) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This pipe originally belonged to my college art mentor, the late professor Walter Barker. Watching the Orioles-Red Sox game.

Part way through this bowl of year 2021 first production Watch City Simply Orange Virginia in a black sandblast medium bend Peterson POTY 4AB No. 182/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. Suzy wasn't thrilled that I put her on m'lady's chair instead of being with me, but I'm getting ready to clean a few pipes, and need the elbow room. She got a few treats, so she's happy. The ferals were well behaved today, and didn't give me much to write about. Lazy li'l punks!! :)Watching the Orioles-Red Sox game.

Enjoyed a tasty red delicious apple, and am near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a straight, black sandblasted pre-1970 Comoy’s Sunrise Etched Grain straight Liverpool 309 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Harry the Hairy went to the back door, so I thought he wanted out. When I opened the door, he took off running to the other side of the den. I walked over to him and he hid under the blanket. He wasn't totally out of view because his long bushy tail was sticking out. I said his name, he wagged his tail, and when I got near him, he ran to the door. I went to the door, and he ran to the kitchen. I followed him, and he ran to hide under the blanket again. This time, the only thing he stuck under the blanket was his head. I guess he figured that if he couldn't see me that I couldn't see him. I sat down beside him and spoke softly as I rubbed and scratched his back, which he loves. Then, I gave him his favorite catnip toy, and he started batting it around the den. When he hit it where he couldn't reach it, I got it, and threw it so he could chase it, and hit it around. We did that three times. Assured that I won't put him out, Harry was walking around, probably bored. I have noticed that when he wants to go out, and I open the door, he seems to get frightened and backs off. I'm not sure why he does that, but he's laying by my feet as I type this. It's Daisy the Feral Princess' and Tomato the Brave's wet food time, so we'll if he wants out when I bring them in.

Near the half way mark of this bowl of Wilke Back Bay w/o perique in a straight black sandblasted 1924 Parker’s Super Briar Bark 11 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe was made in the second year of Parker production. Been busy with stuff. I'll try to end the day with this smoke.
