New Pipe: Well, I had a smoke tonight, and I'll post it tomorrow because I'm about to pick over and dry about 15 more pounds of Saskatoons. This is the final picking - all the leaves turn yellow after the second picking, and my half dozen Saskabushes look like premature fall now, all yellow like a Toronto Maple Leaf defenceman on the ice. I've about four hours of work to do tonight, but I thought I'd entertain you with a new arrival.
I usually post new arrivals in the new pipe thread first, but this one is for Jimi. About a week ago, I wrote in a post that Jim's pipe was one I coveted (there are many) but this one especially. Here it is, poached from his post. Love this pipe, and thank you for the inspiration, my friend!
Now, this is for sure above my pay grade, but a similar styled pipe, another Polak job, this time not Brog, but from another Polish maker named Lubinski, apparently pretty well known. It filled the price and similarity bill. Cost me $40 US plus shipping. It's not badly finished at all, attractive, and is a rather nice piece of Olive wood. How it smokes remains to be seen.
I've now put it in my locked drawer with three other newbies, not going to be touched or looked at until it's break-in time. They have to wait their turn, because there are four others in progress, almost completed and beginning to smoke well indeed. I'll show you the smoke today, tomorrow. It's back to work. All this extra curricular activity is frankly the berries.
