Ending the day the way I started it, screaming and covered in blood. Just kidding! With a Cob bowl of Early Morning Pipe, I ought to say! Wishing all y’all out in TobaccoLand a lovely, restful night. On the other hand, given how large TobaccoLand is, I must also wish all y’all a hearty and cheerful dawn, morning, mid morning, midday, afternoon, evening, and dusk as well.

HU Nyala in a V.F. Cherrywood Morta.

As a lover of cigar leaf blends, I've long wanted to try HU Nyala. Thanks to the most gracious @dottlejockey (a true scholar and gentleman) I now have that chance. My very first HU tobacco experience.

5 minutes in and I'm absolutely loving it. No nuanced review from me, but it's complex and balanced. Very clear cocoa note, and just the right touch of sweetness. A real winner. 🥇

Drink is dark rum 'n cola. Very muggy Texas evening. 😓

Nice! Glad to hear the sampling is going well. And that's a slick morta cherrywood, btw. ;)

Watching the UFC main card, fully done working in the shop for the day. Speaking of working, i'm currently working on a bowl of Bijou in an Ahmet Govem commission with a very enjoyable pour of Kaiyo Japanese whisky. Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend.

Had to take a break from assembly in the shop to catch the UFC channel for the prelims. I think i'm doing this PPV on ESPN, too, gotta see this middleweight title tonight.

For the prelim break, fired up some Royal Yacht in an Ali cherrywood.

No bitey this time . . . . Cherrywood is also a pipe design. 🙃👍👍 Got it!

Now smoking Ken Byron Ventures Jim’s Special Flake 2023 in a black rusticated full bend 1984 Peterson Mark Twain military mount egg with a silver cap and tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Just fed Sleepy Suzy. When she finishes, I'll see if Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave are outside and hungry since it's their feeding time. Harry the Hairy went out about fifteen minutes ago, but he wanted a head scratch first. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Thanks! And just by way of follow-up on the Nyala, for anyone interested. Sublime tobacco! The chamber on the Cherrywood Morta is tall-ish, and it took me about 1.5 hrs to finish it off. It was very pleasant all the way to the very end. It also had this uncanny ability to stay lit - even after sometimes 5 minutes sitting, I could coax it back to life. I think I re-lit only once (?). Beautiful stuff. 👍

LOL and wink to @gord on the "Cherrywood" discussion ... ;)

Did a little low calorie snacking, and am smoking Watch City Simply Gold in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Celebi Turkish Meerschaum with a tapered gold and black swirl acrylic stem. Ismail made this meer for me as a token of friendship. It won't be long before the official release of this blend. Watching the Orioles-Astros game. Daisy the Feral Princess got a bunch of attention as was her royal command. She's laying by my feet now. Tomato the Brave wasn't as hungry as usual, but he was hyper enough to drive Daisy crazy enough to take a swipe a him when Tomato batted a catnip ball at her. Tomato backed off and went to the kitchen to snack, and then came up to me with a sad "Daisy won't play with me" look on his face. He jumped on my lap for a little attention, and then went outside, probably to annoy Harry the Hairy. Gotta have a long talk with that boy.

Hey @OzPiper I like your Opinel. 🗡️ Here's mine -- it's a No. 7. It's helping me construct a small, homemade hardwood pipe for fun. I have dated my Opinel to between 1950 - 1967, but can't get more precise than that. Cheers!

Hi @JazzInAZ

Can’t go wrong with an Opinel - just about the most basic and uncomplicated design you can have with a folder.
Mine is a no 9 stainless. I do wish I’d gotten the carbon steel but can’t justify getting another when this is working so well

I have quite a few other pocket knives, but this is the one I use mostly
