Started reading Haunted Bookshop again, funny enough. Couldn’t tell you why, but I did. Good book, you know, nice little mystery, and it can lead the reader on to other nice books or authors, particularly James Stephens in my case. Funny enough it (tobacco, not book) smokes wonderfully in my Dracula; it is, you might say, a literary connection. Hope everyone is having a good night. Watching Midway with my wife, pretty good flick.

Part way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the original 515 that Basil Rathbone smoked, and the model that he smoked it in. Daisy the Feral Princess ate again and came back to lay by my feet. Tomato the Brave just finished eating, and is licking his chops while figuring out his next move. He'll probably bat something around the den before he goes out. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is in the bed room with m'lady.

Here's what Tomato was doing this afternoon.

Cobblestone Hiking is an incredible tobacco, if you can find it now. I have a few tins left. It gets even better with age.
I agree with that sentiment and I'm in the same boat: only 3 tins left in the cellar. 'Tis what 'tis. Several of the great burleys have met a similar fate, it seems. I've been going back and revisiting a few that i used to smoke regularly over a decade ago with nostalgic interest.

Fresh Old Joe Krantz in another Armellini.

Hi all, I recently looked into Chacom Mixture No. 4, a Virginia/Perique flake crafted by Kohlhase & Kopp for Chacom. Cold-pressed for four weeks, it blends various Virginias (bright, orange, red, brown) with a touch of Perique for fruity spice. The tin note offers sweet hay, bready tones, and dried fruit (plum, fig) with a faint apricot or honey topping that fades fast. When smoked, it delivers creamy smoke with bright Virginia flavors (hay, citrus, bread) and mild Perique fruitiness and pepper. Mild to medium strength, it burns cool and slow with a pleasant room note—great for all-day smoking. Some compare it to Orlik Golden Sliced or Luxury Navy Flake, and there’s talk it might echo the old Caledonian #499. I recall Jim mentioned it in a thread but hadn’t tried it at the time. Curious to hear your thoughts!

You’re freaking me out, man, I was just looking at that tobacco right now. I’ll take this as a sign to pick some up the next time the spirit moves me.

Haha, man, looks like I'm channeling my inner Moira here, spinning the threads of fate with my Chacom Mixture No. 4 spiel! Guess I’m the goddess of tobacco destiny now—next time the spirit moves you, grab that tin, it’s written in the stars! 😜

Unfortunately this applies to Solani Aged Burley Flake and Wessex Burley Slice.

Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2018 D&R Windsail in a 2018 full bend smooth natural Peterson Sherlock Holmes Lestrade with a silver band and a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. Daisy the Feral Princess decided she needed more attention than I had given her a few minutes earlier, so she jumped up on my lap for more. That didn't thrill Sleepy Suzy at all, and after half a minute, Suzy jumped to the floor and pouted. Then, she went to the kitchen and ate. Daisy stayed on my lap for awhile before she decided to eat some wet food. Suzy saw that and wanted some, too. Now, Suzy's back by my side head butting my left hand while I type this post. Daisy's laying by my feet. The other two ferals are outside.

Daisy's been scratching her nose, but still looks princess-like.

Part way through this bowl of year 2018 Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth dark brown 1950s Comoy’s Deluxe apple military mount with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. David smoked this blend in this pipe so I carry on the tradition. David would have appreciated that. Harry the Hairy wanted in to eat, and Daisy the Feral Princess went out when he came in. Harry's still in the kitchen. Reading baseball box scores.

A third of the way through this bowl of Wilke Back Bay w/o perique in a straight smooth brown circa 1950s-60s BBB Contrast 506 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Tomato the Brave came in more hyper than a tornado, ate a bunch, batted stuff around the den, caught catnip balls that I threw at him, and jumped on my lap for attention. He kept looking at me every time I stopped rubbing or scratching on him with a "That's all, look?" After forty minutes or so of all of this, he wanted out. Reading while this bowl lasts, and then I'm off to bed.

Dermatologist decided to refer me a surgeon. Going to need some serious cleaning out. Changed antibiotics. At this point, I’m ready to give up a chunk of my back to get rid of this mess. I’ve got some to spare.
Really sorry to hear that, Bob. It must be a miserable experience. I see them often down in the barn and it is a wonder we don't hear of bites more frequently than we do. Hope your situation improves quickly.
