Nice pipe and good year! I don’t see too many from ‘65 for some reason.A freshly opened tin of 2018 Solani Aged Burley Flake 656 in a 1965 Dunhill 83 F/T.

That's the way it burns. Same for Penhooker and Three Sails. Mark Ryan didn't add water to his blends because he didn't want his customers to pay for water weight. I smoke a lot of his blends and the burn rate is quick, but enjoyable. Btw, there's no topping on Windsail. It has a light minimally sweet casing, but nothing else.Windsail Silver in a Vauen Olaf bent egg this afternoon. Slow sipping reduces or eliminates most of the topping bite and I am packing as tight as I can while still leaving some airflow. I really like the taste of this tobacco, hay, sweet citrus, bread but is there a method to smoking this blend ? Even with slow sipping it burns very fast more so than cigarette tobacco and it also seems to make the bowl very hot even with a simmering ember. Am I doing something wrong or incorrectly ? Does anyone smoke this regularly ? Curious as I like it the blend. Thanks in advance.
