The parcel arrived: Robert McConnell - Heritage - 5 Year Matured Virginia, Marylebone, Regent Street, Shakespeare. I continue to study the Heritage collection. Of all these tobaccos, the only one I haven't smoked is Marylebone. Perhaps I'll start with it (Peterson Christmas 2012 xl90 pipe) and I'll write my impressions later🧐View attachment 407791
Great line. Hoping to track down some Highgate one day.

I'm starting off this month with a bowl of year 2021 unreleased Sutliff Black Virginia Flake in a late 80's, early 90s James Upshall P DS Tilshead England Made By Hand L185 Canadian with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

On this cooler morning (not jacket weather here yet), smoking some Wilke Peanut Butter in a Gatlinburlier Bulldog I just got in the mail yesterday. What a sweet smoking pipe! No other info about this pipe but I liked the contrast of smooth and rusticated. I’ve been wanting a pipe from there since I’m from East TN. I used to go in there as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s just for the smell. Black coffee (8 o’clock and Vietnamese beans I roast myself) to drink. August is having a good start!IMG_0905.jpeg

Absolutely gorgeous, and unique, pipe. Love the contrast and the rich, dark brown color. Great choice! 🎉

You have an excellent pipe collection but there is something about this one that I really like.
Can’t put your finger on it?

It came from Scandpipes, and I had been eyeing it for some time- maybe a year or so.
I knew the size/dimensions were good for me, but there was something that kept me from pulling the trigger.
I gave in eventually and worked a deal with Per.
Glad I did- it’s a fabulous smoker.

Honestly, it is the simplicity of the pipe. I also think the proportions are exceptional.
