For Jimlnks = You've made many references to: "Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple"

But ... just throwing out a suggestion, here, which might completely change your taste in apples ... you could book a short trip to MN to investigate this plus return home with a good supply. And ... (taking the liberty, here, of also speaking for BenMN, Ted Vig & others) ... if you came the 3rd week of Sept, you'd be an Honored Guest at our Sept Pipe Club meeting -- or Oct. All you'd need bring would be some of your awesome pipes, but no need for tobacco. I'm confident we could supply you fully including one or two of my homemade tampers. :):):)

QUOTE from GOOGLE:
"The Honeycrisp, perhaps Minnesota's premier eating apple, has a well-balanced sweet/tart flavor and unusually crisp texture, which has been called 'explosively crisp'. It was introduced in 1991 & adopted as the state fruit in 2006. The apple was produced as part of the University of Minnesota apple breeding program to develop a winter-hardy tree with high quality fruit."

I'll be enjoying a Honeycrisp tonight after a tasty Sardine Sandwich on Russian Rye with mustard & some raw onion, my pipe smoking Grandfather's traditional Christmas Day lunch which he would then follow with some Edgeworth Ready Rubbed in one of his Canadians.
NOTE1 = not hard to figure few in the family have carried on this tradition!
NOTE2 = thinking of your cats & ferals sitting eagerly around my chair, patiently awaiting any small bits of sardine that might accidentally be dropped on the floor (!) ... sans the mustard & onion, of course.
NOTE3 = Honeycrisps also bake well, sprinkled with some cinnamon & added to morning Oatmeal.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, followed by a bowl of freshly made strawberry ice cream and am near the last quarter of this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Mr. Christian’s Brown Flek 2021 in a 1984 smooth brown full bend Peterson Mark Twain military mount egg with a silver cap and tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Couldn't post before now because Daisy the Feral Princess decided to take a snooze on my lap. She seldom does that. After a while, she wanted eat, and after that, she wanted to go outside. As soon as I sat down, Sleepy Suzy jumped on my lap for a snooze until she decided that she needed some food. Now, she's by my side snoozin'.

I am very grateful to you for the honor of a visit. Btw, @Ted Vig and I are good friends, and have spent a fair amount of time together at a couple of shows, and many telephone calls, too. The problem is that I don't travel anymore due to economics. But, I thank you for the kind offer.

I do like honeycrisp apples a lot. But, I love golden delicious apples for another reason besides the taste: the calorie count. It's much lower than many other apples, and cheaper, too. I pay a lot of attention to calories on my diet maintenance days, and on those days, every calorie counts. I count them all on a marker board to make sure I stay in a certain range on diet days. On off diet days, food is fair game, man. :)

A third of a bowl left of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Sleepy Suzy is still by my side. Tomato the Brave ate plenty, and is snoozin' under a chair.
