Mac Baren Golden Glow I found in the entrance of an old farmhouse of a non smoking friend in a Tom Sawyer - or is it a Huck Finn? The tobacco I at least 20 years old. Take a look at the tin. No warning sign of the evil consequences smoking may have. In the EU these signs have been introduced in 2003. The tobacco is a little bit on the dry side, still an enjoyable smoke. It must have been open once in between.

GLP Quiet Nights in the Chacom 871 bent apple as I watch lacquer dry. I have a knob to use for the drawer for the time being, but it's too big, still hunting a smaller one. Leather forming experiments for the cups isn't going great, I might have to figure something else out. They form fine, but the backside grain transfers to the front and ruins the finish and the suede messes up, but that's all the leather I could find to work with.

Going to have G.L. Pease Spark Plug in a Skull and Crossbones Figural pipe, maker unknown (no stamping whatsoever), but, I’m happy to hear possibilities if any of you might know. It’s my understanding this was purchased in Germany circa August 1945 and brought back to the USA. It has a small removable brass stinger. The overall length from stem button to front teeth is a tad under 7.5".

This will be its inaugural smoke (I pulled bits of sawdust out of the shank when I was cleaning it).

Did a second set of walking reps in the brutal heat and humidity, and have about a quarter of a bowl left of Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Passing the quarter mark on this bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a straight smooth brown post-WW2? (GBD) Rozier San Francisco 9240 squat bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. First time smoking this pipe. Wish I could determine when it was made. Anyway, I decided that since I've smoked bulldogs and Rhodesians today, I will continue the trend this evening.

"Tempus Fugit; Momento Mori" - "Time flies, remember death" --- that was one skull and bones common slogan.

This afternoon - a perfect bowl of Country Squire Old Toby in the Vauen bent egg (21x45mm chamber) - I slow sipped it for 1.5 hours without thinking while working but in a lawn chair outside. I have discovered (better late than never) that if i just load the pipe and smoke it without thinking about it --- its smokes perfectly naturally but if I think about loading and packing and cadence and tamping --- its not as good.
