I’m smoking Esoterica Dorchester in a MM The Louis and drinking ice water on the porch this afternoon.

My yellow jacket problem was handled last night with a can of Raid Sure Shot. Holy crap! It shot out like a fire hose and just obliterated that nest. There wasn’t much left of it after I emptied the can on it and no trace of yellow jackets today.

Got this “TECK 1” tobacco cutter a while back. With some of the blades there was a bit of a gap between the blade and the cutting edge, so the leaves would tear rather than slice, leaving a rather ragged looking pile.

I bought a couple of cheap feeler gauges at Harbor Freight. Checked the gap, and two blades had about a .016” space. The third was fine. So I shimmed the blades, and ran some leaf through. All uniform cuts.

I had some wrapper leaf from a few “LEAF” cigars that I saved in my humidor a few years back. The LEAF cigars use a tobacco leaf as a covering around the finished cigars. It’s meant to be discarded, but I saved it.

I stuffed some in a small pipe and smoked it. Very mellow and a cedar note. Burned awful fast… should have packed a little tighter. I mixed it with Rimbouche AB and packed another bowl. Very nice. Added a cedar/cigar note to the blend…

Very nice!
I just cube cut a bunch of cigar leaf last night with a chef’s knife - if I were to say that I achieved a less than uniform result it would be a huge understatement :)
