Where's the dog?C&D Yorktown in my Rad Davis "Smokers Forums" POY 2008.
Yorktown is the Pegusus of Virginias......change my mind.
Yorktown....just plain, uncased Virginias.
Pegusus....just plain uncased Burley.
Neither get their proper attention in my opinion. That's a damn shame.

Awesome man! I love those pipes.I'm blaming @PrivatePiping for this purchase but, I'm not upset about it. Though I was eyeing the colorful stems like what he has, I fell in love with the orange stain and grain on this one...

Got a surprisingly good deal on this Chacom reverse calabash and I'm giving it a first go with some MacBaren Plumcake.

I believe that's the same Pete i bought about 2 months ago. The stamped writing on mine is blurred and illegible and unfortunately I threw the box away. Now I know what it is!! A sweet pipe, for sure. Mine's become a favourite!P. Junior Rustic - Canted Apple + C&D Rajah’s CourtView attachment 388499

@Servant King, this has mellowed out a lot from my last dabble in the jar. I understand your rating a little better now.
Lower lakes in my area (Prince George BC) just starting to ice off. Run-off a ways off yet, and walk in areas of most rivers I fish is still clogged with snow or casual water. May late or early June for us.The fishing was good! Just what I neededThe grannoms were still around, along with some Hendricksons, and they provided the feast; we fooled some of the dumb ones.... I'm guessing you guys are still dealing with run-off?
Excellent and informative post. . . . .lots to chew on here, no pun intended. I need to investigate more on perique. I believe it's a process, not a variety of tobacco, and now that I'm starting to "grow my own" and have a fondness for tobaccos containing perique, this was a most valuable reading for me. The more I know about this stuff the better. Thanks. No doubt, but if they're trying to be unique with this one, they succeeded, for better or worse. Here's a shot of the texture, to bring clarity on the use of the term "granulated."

More like a short, chunky, ribbon cut - but "granulated" is much more cohesive for marketing purposes.
Tin note is lightly of dark fruit and, oddly enough, dark cocoa powder. Not spicy/peppery at all on the nose. I've never tried it straight, but i'm tasting it in the M Cinar hammer now and it's surprisingly easy going with a little spicey note coming through on the palate. Certainly, quite different to my old favorite, which was Jewel of St. James. I had stocked up on a few jars of that when they stopped production years ago, but alas, it has all since been used in home blends. I was trying this as an alternative. Next time i am in New Orleans, i'm going to see if i can tour St James Parish (and possibly procure some product from one of the farms).
Anyhoo, last bowl for me tonight -- after i finish up this little pinch of perique -- will be Burley Flake #5 in a Mastro de Paja dublin.

The laws for growing tobacco are very hazy in Canada . . . there is a blurring of Federal and Provincial stuff here that is confusing and often manipulated. Re Michelle, I'm actually doing a bit of matchmaking, lol. I mentioned once before that all my life, I've done what I want, how I want, and when I want. All prospects exited stage left or stage right. No change in the weather or the forecast.I’m curious. What legalities are there to grow just a few plants for personal use? Unless you voluntarily join a homeowners association here or rent, or have a condo in a high rise in a city, not many places in the US care in the least. Grow to your heart‘s content.
And I sure hate you lost your pup, but I see he wasn’t the only old dog in your house! Be gentle with Michelle, lol.
