I’ll be off the WAYS thread for a while. I’m having lumbar fusion surgery on 5/21. I will have several bone grafts and evidently nicotine inhibits their healing. I won’t be smoking for a month before and at least 3 months after. A guy needs his lower back to work right and not hurt. I’ll be around otherwise.
Best wishes, I hope you get better soon!

Having Cornell & Diehl Small Batch Steamworks (4,055/8,000) in an Oguz Simsek Don Hector Salamanca/Mark Margolis (as depicted in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) Figural.

Breaking bad was such a great show. What an absolutely cool and unique pipe!

On the menu for my evening smoke is a bowl of KBV Dwarven Mine loaded in my Bent Hunter Falcon with a meer bowl and paired with some flavored water.

Hope you all had a great Easter.

At the half way mark of this bowl of year 2020 H&H Chatham Manor in a straight black sandblasted, smooth dark brown top bowl 2021 Jim Brown stack Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Earlier, I went outside to check on the ferals, and there was a possum at the water bowl. I've seen the same one several times lately, and it's not very afraid of me. I told it to move on three times before it did, and it certainly did walk on... to one of the cat houses we had built for ferals about three feet from where I was standing. I went out just a minute ago, and it was soundly sleeping in the house. I'm not crazy about possums, but I left it sleeping there. Speaking of sleeping, Suzy is snoozin' by my side. Molly Danger is with m'lady.

Ending the day with a MM Country Gentleman stuffed with Sasieni Balkan that I jarred back in 2022.
I like Balkan blends in general and have several in my collection, but I have always liked Saseini best.
Three years in the cellar has really done good things for this blend! It is a bit sweeter now than I remember it being and the complexity and richness has married perfectly. This has come together into a great tasting smoke!

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Cleaned the pipes that I smoked today. I went outside to take a photo of the possum, but it left the house. Tomato the Brave was standing guard at the cat tree that faces the cat house.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking the last of my stash of year 2017 Velvet in a straight smooth medium brown post-1940s Comoy’s Tradition 110B billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Going to give this pipe a good clean, and decide what kind of OTC to smoke in it when the time comes to put it in action. Time to read baseball box scores. Sleepy Suzy is by my side snorin'. She can't match Tomato the Brave in a snoring contest. He's the champ! :)

Last smoke of the day (I hope) is year 2020 Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. A couple of minutes after my last post, I looked out the back door window to see if any ferals were hungry. Laying on the doormat was Abner the Eager, who was very eager to see me. I picked him up, brought him inside, and he ate a lot of dry food. Then, instead of wanting back out as he's been doing lately, he stayed in. Right now, he's snoozin' on the couch. I fed the others, but only Daisy the Feral Princess wanted to stay inside. I think Harry the Hairy wanted out because he saw Abner, but as nice as it is outside, I don't think he minded going out very much. Abner has a smile on his face as he snoozes. Sleepy Suzy is by my side.
