View attachment 3865881984 Dunhill with a Cumberland stem won in a pipe smoking contest decades ago in Saint Charles, MO at the pipe shop of John Dengler. Currently smoking a blend called Telescopes that he developed for me before that contest. I rarely smoke this pipe, but it does smoke well. When I first got it, I was surprised that the smoking enjoyment was not any better than my much much cheaper pipes, both in terms of quality and reputation. I simply couldn't imagine that for all the money that was being asked for a Dunhill, in terms of pipe smoking quality, there wasn't a hair's bit of difference between what I already had and the Dunhill. Just looking at the pipe, other than the Cumberland stem and perhaps the bit, nothing really stood out as being superior. Oh well. Now I have 7 Dunhills. I've learned to appreciate them for what they are and not for what they aren't.
Indeed both very cool looking pipe and panama as well

Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats except for Abner the Eager. Speaking of Abner, he had fun playing with a catnip sock when he was inside before my bedtime.
