Info for SmokeyJock & Gord, as I call upon long ago memories (70's, 80's), re: the perfect tool for the "job at hand".
All that's needed is a small round screen, which can probably be found in most Smoke Shops.
NOTE: a US Army Jeep gas filter screen, easily cut to size with scissors, works fine.
NOTE2: Requesting to all my Forum brothers & sisters that limited questioning and/or commentary be laid upon me. Nuf said ...
Hmm, wasn't Lou Costello known for saying "I've been a baaaaaad boy!"?

Now smoking year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Going to work on cleaning estate pipes. Two of them have a light smell to them, so they need another salt and alcohol treatment. One had that treatment, and I'll empty out the bowl, scrub, and see how it's doing. Two need some bowl reaming.

Invest in a dry herb vaporizer! You won’t have use so much of that green tobacco if you vape it

Autumn Evening in a gianormious Marxman 400 D-331, which was formerly owned by a big, brawny outdoor man of action with good teeth to clench it.

My Marxman is waaaay more Marxy than yours!

In 1940 when this was made a woman bought the most expensive factory pipe in the world for her rugged outdoor man of action. This pipe was made and numbered under the supervision of Louis Cowan and sold by Robert L. Marx and after the sale the serial number was entered in the 400 Blue Book by the lovely Helen Marx, or one of her gorgeous young assistants.

We do not own these. We carefully smoke and color them oxblood for the next generation.
A very striking pipe. I enjoyed the old advertisement.
