Relaxing after a wonderful salad, haddock and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2012 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth dark brown Algerian briar 1916 Barling The Hunt with beautiful silver work and a black vulcanite saddle stem with an orific bit.

Currently, I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2019 Ascanian No. 1 in a straight smooth dark brown 1930s (Comoy’s) The Exmoor Pipe 283 chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

The last of a series of snowstorms is beginning its progression through the SoCal mountains...just when the mudpit aka my ranch was starting to dry out. Knocked the chores out quick before relaxing in the workroom with a bowl of Ashton Artisan's Blend in a Savinelli Bacco 321 rusticated author. Wifey reacted to the room note only slightly more favorably than if I had been epically flatulent (which I was not). 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, House finch, American crow, Band-tailed pigeon, Red-tailed hawk, California quail, Mountain chickadee, California scrub-jay, and Steller's jay.

Looking forward to the actual return of spring next week. And some dry ground for a change!
