"That's a fake post you posted. I never once have mentioned vaping in a post. I have never done that or used a nicotine patch.
Here is the actual post. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to impugn anybody's reputation for the sake of spam.
I reported him, and I hope you and others will as well."

Jim ... not to come off as a sycophant, but you're a Living Legend, the Godfather on this forum. And I say that with confidence that I'm probably just a "tad" older that you. To think that anybody would impugn your integrity or cast aspirations, well, I'd not only be willing to report him, but also look him up with Torches & Pitchforks (!!!).

NOTE: If I could set aside all your fascinating, detailed tobacco commentary ... all your detailed descriptions of your various pipes ... and all your fascinating commentary on "Cat Life" around your home ... I'd follow your writings just to read your cuisine intake. ;)

That is one beautiful friend!!! :)
Thanks, Jim.

Around 2021, a lot of the ranches around me that historically have raised cattle decided to till the soil up and try their hand at farming. When that grass came down, all of those mice and voles started fanning out to find new homes. We quickly had ourselves a rodent issue in our little farm house. My wife was at work one day and a local animal shelter brought in some cats available for adoption. She locked eyes with Cowboy and immediately knew that there was a special connection. Within a few months, our rodent issue was almost completely eradicated and, in the process, we also had a loyal new addition to the family. He’s an incredibly loving, social cat that also takes his mousing very seriously. He puts up with toddlers, little kids, other animals, and all sorts of other things that most cats would never abide.

I’ve been more of a dog person for most of my life but this cat is starting to make me question things. IMG_6211.jpegIMG_6114.jpeg

That’s a beauty! I’ve been eyeing them on SP for awhile now. I see one in my future.
Lovely hunk of briar. The green stem is wonderful as well.

Thank you! It really is a great smoking pipe too! I haven't seen the colored stems on SP yet, but they're available on their company site in France. Big selection of Chacom, Ropp, and a couple others of their make. I've bought a couple of times from them with no issues.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and have passed the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2014 FVF in a straight smooth brown year 1923 Dunhill A billiard 60 patent March 9.15 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. I went outside to see how Tomato the Brave was doing. I gave him a little attention, but he didn't seem affected by it. M'lady just did the same thing with the same result. Maybe he'll perk up at his next feeding time.

Same routine, different pipe...GLP Windjammer in a Stefano Rhodesian while grazing the horse on local grass sprouts. A little quieter today, blessedly. 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, House finch, California towhee, American crow, California scrub-jay, California quail, Steller's jay, Mountain chickadee, Western bluebird, Hairy woodpecker, Northern flicker, Oak titmouse, Spotted towhee, Band-tailed pigeon, and White-breasted nuthatch. The juncos appear to be migrating to cooler climes, as they do around this time.

Soundly defeated wifey today in Scrabble...twice! Which exacted some manner of vengeance for the previous two or three drubbings I received. Still waiting for the day when I can use "perique" and withstand the inevitable challenge...

Just saw a Pileated Woodpecker up here recently, and we have lots of flickers . . . . seen any Pileated peckers there recently? I remember as a boy actually seeing an Ivory Bill once on a family vacation. Mom was a birder and knew instantly what it was. . . . very very rare back then, probably extinct now. Enjoy reading your bird reports. 👍👍
Sadly no. Pileated are more prevalent in Canada and the eastern half of the US. They do show up in the Pacific Northwest as well, but outside of the northernmost reaches of California and some parts of the Sierra Nevadas, they are uncommon, especially this far south. But should I see one, believe me...you'll be the first to know! But I'll probably sooner see the Canucks hoist the Stanley Cup... 😁

Bye and bye the sun set here in Missouri so I sashayed on over to turn my garage air conditioner down a few notches and I rummaged through the box of my old camera stuff where I found the Titusville Queen City 3 blade coffin shaped rosewood Whittler.

Boy howdy now the other boys will have hard time beating me at pocket knife show and tell!

A V5 (Vintage Sambar Stag) 1849 (Copperlock) SS (Stainless Steel) 1999 date Case was also hiding at the bottom of that box!

I dug out my early thirties 7754 KB& B Kaywoodie Drinkless with a Patent Pending Synchostem to celebrate, but I didn’t have no Penzance or Capstan handy.

Christmas in April twice in one day!

But if the Blessed Guest came to visit me, I’d offer Him Super Value Amaretto as a thank you. There’s no better aromatic made, at any price.

@gord I saw a post you made (couldn't find it) & mixed 50/50 Captain Black Cherry & Carter Hall . It eliminated the initial syrupy sweetness & made for a very pleasant smoke . In a pretty Carey :

Yeah, that would do it. I'd love to have tried Carter Hall but it wasn't available to me. My original mix was 7:3 Captain Black Dark, and Captain Black Cherry. Pretty close to the original proportions. The Captain Black Dark is pure cavendish, and would be a bit smoother than the Carter which is mostly burley, and that would probably burn a bit quicker, but it'll still make a nice mix. Thanks for giving it a shot!
