Relaxing after a wonderful salad and chicken primavera dinner. M'lady just took the apple cinnamon raisin pie out of the oven, so once it cools and settles, I'll be eating a lot of it. It's been years since she's made one, and I'm glad that I asked her to do it. I'm near the last quarter of this bowl of year 2012 St. James Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-early 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood T.V.F. Made in England EL billiard with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Dodgers game with Sleepy Suzy by my side. She doesn't eat pie, but she'll watch me do that. Suzy likes to watch me eat.

G.L.Pease Horizons again. My first pipe of this was folded and stuffed in a Nording Signature Freehand earlier this evening, and it was a great smoke. This time I've rubbed it out in a Savinelli Noce 320. I usually prefer to fold and stuff flakes, but I've never smoked Balkan/English flakes before so I'm now trying my preferred method of smoking non-flake Balkan/English blends, being in a 320. 1000000728.jpg

More snow + more ranch cleanup = more Mac Baren Plumcake in a MM Dagner Poker. I never got better than a C in any math class I ever took, but this is simple enough math even for me. Dried it perfectly too. 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, House finch, Mountain chickadee, American crow, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Hairy woodpecker, White-breasted nuthatch, American robin, and Spotted towhee.

Passing the first third of this bowl of 2017 Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut in a 2016 Peretti's M.T. Natural made in Holland straight smooth brown Algerian briar billiard with a tapered black acrylic stem. This should get me to dinner time. After I posed my last smoke, I went outside and saw Abner the Eager in the street a house up from mine. I called to him, and he came running to me. I scratched his head, and he laid down on his side for a rub. I picked him up to bring him inside, and he had an audiable motor running. He hasn't done that in a few weeks. He ate a bunch, drank a bunch, and laid on the floor near me for about twenty minutes. Then he wanted out. This is the happiest I've seen the li'l fella in a while.

Ate three quarters of a deep dish nine inch apple cinnamon raisin pie with a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream for dessert, and am near the first third of this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Jim’s Special Flake 2023 in a straight smooth brown 1920s-30s (Comoy’s) Corinthian Sutliff San Francisco London Made 36 dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Haven't smoked this pipe lately. I brought Molly Danger to the den, and after a little time on m'lady's lap, she's prowling around looking for something to play with. There's several toys on the floor, but she just stares at them, the silly li'l girl.
