Good weekend and pipes to all! Started with KBV Mr. Christian's Brown Flek ("Matured Brown Virginia Flake") in a small Upshall sandblast Dublin with smooth rim and eighth-bent tapered stem size 3-4. Very, very nice. Seems to be Best Brown Flake that is further stoved. Will be ordering several Virginias to experiment with using the Fred Hanna 200/300 stoving method.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. It's still raining, so I doubt I'll get any walks in today.

Packing my default luntingware, a MM Country Gent, with Drew Estate Harvest on Hudson. So much nicer to just walk out of our place with our horse, and go straight into the woods, rather than driving 10 miles round trip to a boarding facility. Such a relief to have the whole family together! Plus, not only are the mountain creeks robustly flowing (I bet the water company hates all that free water out there!), but there's lots of green grass everywhere. Needless to say, the mustang will be completely distracted on this walk. But that's just fine by me.

Bird report: Northern flicker, California scrub-jay, Dark-eyed junco, Steller's jay, White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, California thrasher, and Common raven.

In other news, I found a 65 degree lob wedge at the local thrift store. Price? $2. Perfect timing, as I will probably get back out on the course sometime later this month. Maybe I'll finally get some backspin on my pitch shots, although frankly I'd just be content with not hitting anyone. Those personal injury lawyers are ruthless! Or so I've heard...

Shabbat shalom!

Ennerdale Flake in a Pollock clay.
Been for a walk from Old Brampton, Linacre Woods and Piper Lane to come out at Brookfield. Clay pipe in Old Brampton churchyard. Nice to get out of town; everywhere I'd normally go (Graves Park, Bakewell / Matlock / Chatsworth area) would be too busy over the Easter holiday weekend. Not litter picking Chatsworth Road over the Bank Holiday weekend as some idiot threw my bags of rubbish over a fence into the bushes. I had to climb over the fence to get them back & put one in my own rubbish bin...
Met a fellow pipe smoker in Chesterfield; he let me have a pipeful of his Black Cherry / Condor blend - it went down well!

You've got stones I'll give you that.
Smoking a clay on a windy day outdoors? I would sooner approach my neighbor's Rottweiler by surprise.
Nothing good will come from it.
@keith929 @Ahi Ka I don't know about smoking a clay outdoors as it was too windy to light it when I went to see the Sealed Knot at Bolsover Castle:)
