Good day all! Decided to start with a throwdown: KBV Raven's Eye Flake (apparently Stokkebye LBF that's been heated) versus Peterson De Luxe Navy Rolls, using a pair of .75" bore Upshalls. So far the REF is deep, mellow, rich, heated Virginia blend with a bit of (for me) that KBV twang I enjoy, but none of the following characteristics I expected. DLNR is just straightforward simple bread-like, smoothness with hints of incense-like perique weaving in and out; a blender's masterclass. So after all, just two close but different blends that I, of the challenged taste buds, recommend. Peace.

I’m really digging Spark Plug right now, great blend!
Yes it is a great blend, but beware, it runs on high octane Nic.

what I like about it is that it is reminiscent of older English Blends. When i opened it up (it had been in the cellar for several years) I said out loud, "Heh, its a plug!"

My wife who was nearby and watching, replied back, "Well it says PLUG on the tin."

Two smokes last evening, Esoteerica Tilbury in a Ser Jacopo serpentine saddle stem blast Dublin, and Match Elizabethan from PC in a Savinelli blast Prince of Wales (prince shape of course) rusticated with a smooth brim and slightly bent/arched longer swirl stem, a briefly issued and now discontinued series similar to the Bing's Favorite but in a prince shape rather than a billiard.

It got well into the 80's F yesterday, and we ran the a.c., but now it's back into the 70's and rainy. Somehow the paper arrived on the curb dry. It was double bagged and it landed with the closed end upstream. Now to work on banking, taxes, and errands.

Starting off this rainy day with a bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. No walks today, but if I had a canoe, I could get some exercise in. :)
