Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Enjoyed a zoom meeting regarding The Bill Finger Award for comic books. I am a charter member of this important committee.

Beautiful pipe! What a gift! I like p-lip stems.
So do I. I can't begin to tell you how surprised and thrilled I am to have this happen to me. It is always a gift from the heavens when friends care enough about you to do these things. Every time something like this has happened, I feel like the luckiest, most grateful man alive.

Smoking some Lane Limited HGL from a jar that I’ve been reaching over and around for a couple of years now. It’s been awhile since I’ve had anything with much black cavendish in it so I’m a little entertained with all the smoke this stuff produces. Even though it has some Latakia I can’t pick up on it much, but that might be because the Gaslight I smoked prior numbed out my Latakia taster.

The jar note reminds me of a box of caramel filled assorted chocolates and my wife gave a thumbs up on the room note. Joe apparently approves too as he’s sticking close by.

@Backwoods Briar I recommend you try the Musketeer in your clay.
Got 4 bags of rubbish today; still feel upset after being told to "F*** Off". Any alien landing here would think it was a response to "Hey up". (But not everywhere).
Don't get those types (alcohol / drug addicts / ex prisoners etc) just a few miles away in the surrounding rural villages - it's more "inner city" language. There only seem to be a few culprits and all seem to be in the town centre / West Bars / bottom end of Chatsworth Road area. Seems over 50% of Chesterfield's population are alcohol / heroin junkies...
It's the same everywhere from Chesterfield to Cape Town; those that can't afford to leave get left behind...
It's easier to think what I don't like here than what I do; yet Nottingham and Rotherham are said to be rougher but I didn't get bothered in either of those & Anthony thinks Chesterfield is a paradise compared to where he comes from in Doncaster.
My checklist would be:
1) Not a city.
2) Smaller than Chesterfield.
3) Less deprived area.
4) Lower crime rate.
Hey @halfdan , your a good man to put up with all those never do wells, and clean up after those street urchins, will smoke a clay in your honor!

Getting an early start on my birthday with Sutliff Match Victorian in my Stefano Santambrogio bent Rhodesian. This is my only 9mm pipe, and I decided to throw in a 9mm -> 3mm adapter on my last SP order just to see what it would smoke like. So if there's another bullshit balsa shortage in the future, this pipe will not be decaying from disuse.

Bird report: California scrub-jay, Stelller's jay, Dark-eyed junco, Common raven, Red-tailed hawk, California towhee, and Mountain chickadee.

Anyone ever look into who else shares your birthday? It's always the most random assortment of folks...like Ethel Merman, Idi Amin, and Copernicus, or something like that. Weird.

Anyway, tomorrow I plan on breaking in not one but two pipes, my MM Dagner (almost typed "danger," as in Austin Powers' middle name) Poker, and my Savinelli Porto Cervo 122 bent pot, with two of my three open Drew Estate blends, Harvest on Hudson and Gatsby Luxury Flake respectively. I cracked the GLF tin yesterday to give it some breathing time...what a spectacular tin note. Like a really earthy, bready Capstan. Cob will be my golfing companion, and wifey is cooking my favorite meal for dinner, eggplant parmesan. GLF in the new Sav will be my after dinner smoke. Wish me luck on the course, and please beware of flying, spherical alabaster objects, regardless of how far away from Southern California you may be (my long iron play needs some work).

First time smoking year 2016 Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake in a straight smooth terracotta 2014 Sherlock Holmes Baker Street bulldog with sterling silver band and a tapered black p-lip stem. This pipe was a generous, thoughtful present by a fellow pipe smoker on another forum. I admired the one he had as I always wanted this model as a smooth finish with a p-lip, and as of today, I have one.It was unsmoked until now. Just amazing!!!! :)

That's fantastic! I love the smooth Peterson Sherlock series pipes, and that one is gorgeous! I've got a Sherlock and a Mycroft. Baker Street is next!
