It was a gorgeous late morning, and after breakfast I sat like a mad dog, or an Englishman, in the noon-day sun, with a bowl of Country Squire Rivendell in an old friend, an early 1960s Cellini (Victory Pipe Craftsmen of Chicago) rusticated bulldog.
