Work's done for the day, did a load of dishes, Suzy and Molly are eating, and I'm smoking Uhle’s Blend 71 in a 2018 smooth full bend Peterson Premiere 312 billiard with a silver cap military mount and a black vulcanite saddle stem with a p-lip. I may end the day with this smoke if I get everything done before bed time. Going to see how many ferals are hungry.

I am finalizing what will be my second briar pipe purchase, for next month. Also a pipe rest, if it will be my first pipe rest. Later on, maybe this summer, I will buy a nice wooden display case, to place everything related to tobacco. I want to finish my smoker's cave. Very windy day today. Relaxing afternoon. I’m waiting on a recent acquisition from eBay, an Astley’s in a rather unusual shape that fortunately kept the price low. Unfortunately it’s being delivered by Evri, the new incarnation of Hermes delivery service. They couldn’t pass on Covid without screwing it up some way or another, I’ve already had two delayed delivery notices. I recommend UK residents avoid them like the plague unless you want your items lost, damaged, stolen or returned to sender after one attempt at delivery.

It took twenty minutes in the freezer to get the stem out but it’s cleaned and sterilised now and the stem which was a deep brown has been somewhat restored to its original colour. I think this was designed to look like the head of a bird,
